Pluot, Cashew, Fuji Apple

Organic - Limited Time Offering - Fruity, complex, and extraordinarily buttery, this limited release from Sabino Mestanza is a slow-sipper. Flavor notes of ripe plum and apricot are supported by the creamiest mouthfeel, leaving the crisp and lasting aftertaste of fuji apple. Sabino's Finca Mangos is located in the Luya district of Amazonas, a region in northern Peru long-known for its high quality coffees. A third generation farmer, Sabino practices ancestral cultivation techniques such as referencing the phases of the moon to inform when to sow and prune his coffee trees. Sabino works alongside the Cooperativa Agraria Cafetalera Ocumal, a cooperative made of 150 producers in Luya, to process and export his beautiful harvests.

As of 2019, Cooperativa Agraria Cafetalera Ocumal is home to 150 farmers in the Luya district of Amazonas, Peru. Founded in 2016 and run by current president Faimer Villar Muñoz and general manager Pepe Luis Huaman Reynoso, Ocumal started with the goal of working organizationally to improve quality and access financially sustainable markets to help the community thrive.

The cooperative offers dynamic support to its partners, including training and technical assistance in the production of organic coffees, training in harvest and post-harvest best practices, training in Fair Trade criteria, management of production projects, collection, and even marketing services.

The name "Finca Mangos" honors Sabino’s great grandparents, who planted mango trees on the farm many years ago. There is also an abundance of shade trees like guava and native chamizos that protect the lower canopy and contribute to a healthy ecosystem.
